Penne Carbonara

Method

  1. Heat oil in a large frying pan or saucepan over a medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic 2-3 minutes. Remove & set aside.
  2. Return the pan to the heat and brown the bacon over a high heat, draining off excess fat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and stir in the Bulla Light Cream, parsley, chives, parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper. Stir until well combined and heated through 2-3 minutes.
  4. Toss the freshly cooked pasta through the sauce.
  5. Serve garnished with shaved parmesan.
     
Penne Carbonara

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 300g lean bacon, roughly chopped
  • 600ml Bulla Light Cream
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 400g penne pasta, cooked and drained
  • Shaved parmesan cheese to garnish
     

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 4 - 6

This sauce is great made with salmon or tuna in place of bacon.
