Banana & Walnut Sour Cream Cake

Afternoon tea fare

Method (Pre-heat Oven 180c)

  1. Place the cake mix, sour cream, eggs and dried banana pieces into the work bowl of a food processor and process until well combined.
  2. Pour the cake mix into a greased and lined 24cm cake tin.
  3. Slice the banana into thick pieces and lay over the top of the cake, sprinkle over the walnuts and cinnamon sugar.
  4. Bake in the pre-heated oven 180c for 35-40 minutes until cooked and golden.
  5. Cool on a wire rack and serve warm or cold.
Banana & Walnut Sour Cream Cake


  • 1 x 680g Butter Cake Mix
  • 200g Bulla Sour Cream
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 100g dried banana pieces
  • ¼ cup milk or juice
  • 1 large ripe banana
  • 50g golden walnuts
  • 1 tsp cinnamon sugar

To Serve:

  • Yoghurt or Butter

Cooking Time: 25 mins

Bananas maybe be replaced with dried and sliced apples.
